Welcome to the Twang Bassment , a place for Runaway Twang Bass player applicants and tire kickers

WE HAVEN"T HAD ALL OF THE AUDITIONS YET SO HANG TIGHT AS WE CREATE SCHEDULES 10/25/07

If you are reading this that means that you have been in contact with the band. We will work with everyones schedule to find a time to play (hate the word audition) together at our place in Garland. So feel free to ask questions, and as a courtesy we will contact everyone who was interested when and if there is a decision, that's just plain 'ol good Texas manners.

Okay boys and girls, this here is the page with music to listen to and learn, there are ten songs listed, just pick five that you want to work on, if you pick and learn all ten that's great but not a requirement. At this time this is just the Honky Tonk - Roadhouse stuff. The rock and classic rock list will come later and we'll decide on that together as a band. Alright? Cool.

Click the song to hear, give them a few moments to load. If you want them go ahead and "right click" your mouse over the song and select "save target as" to get it over to your rig. Once the song opens with your player, use your " back arrow" on your web browser to get back to the page. When you are finished listening to them on your PC or Mac, you can trash and delete them.

If you're here on this webpage it's because you might be interested in being the new Bass artillery for Runaway Twang, the guy you would be replacing has been with us for four years and is pretty darn good, so we don't expect you to jump in and kick ass without support from all the guys, so let's have some fun.

A REMINDER OF THE REQUIREMENTS

No. 1 - We get paid when we play

No. 2 - We've all done the 3 or 4 nights a week gig, that's not the current goal.

No. 3 - We take the music seriously, and still gig, but only a few times a month, MAYBE LESS (Let's get that out on the table) vs. the old grind.

No. 4 - Music - Originals (got any ideas then pitch in), Alt Country, Texas, Classic Kuntry, a few top 40's to help pay the bills, Rock, Classic Rock, Maybe some hard Rockin now and then, Rockabilly and hip hop (just kiddin about the hip hop)

No. 5 - We have a very stable team, fiddle, drums, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, and you on bass.

No. 6 - We have a rehearsal room with a bass rig so all you have to do is bring your axe if you want.

No. 7 - We rehearse, not practice, together every Thursday night but we work with everyones schedule, we're pretty easy going folks. NOTE, that doesn't mean you can slack and not learn and practice the tunes. We are all expected to practice on our own , and "rehearse" together, again we are a team and will work through any issues together. Once we get rolling we usually only need to hook up every two weeks, unless there are new tunes to write or learn.

No. 8 - We may be in our 30's and 40's, have families, and a life, but music is a large part of those lives.

Again, we work around each members schedule and have a helluva time playin. Band of Brothers is a great description, lot's of support both on and off stage.

With much respect!
