Americana, Alternative Americana, Country, Alternative Country, Texas Music, Alternative Texas Music, Red Dirt, Alternative Red Dirt, Texicana? It's hard to label these guys, they just got together to write good songs and play music that they and thousands of others enjoy, so let the labels fall where they may.

Runaway Twang's original music pays respect to country music's past while saying something new. Sharing the stage with other Texas greats like Gary P. Nunn, Max Stalling, or Wayne "The Train" Hancock to name a few have taught Runaway Twang at least one thing, to believe in their own music.

This band was born out of the love for Classic Country, Texas, Americana and Red Dirt Music. RT plays with an enthusiasm and energy that comes naturally when you are doing something you really love, and at anytime they can whip the crowd into a honky tonk frenzy and then bring them right back down into a slow tear jerkin waltz.

If you want to understand the the non-NeoNashville influences that help make up the RT sound, you can get an pretty good idea by just tuning to the Dallas stations 95.3 KHYI "The Range" and KNON 89.3 FM "Texas Renegade Radio". If you are down in the Hill Country of Texas, spin your dial until you hit 92.1 KNBT in New Braunfels and you'll hear pure Texas Music for yourself.

Runaway Twang supports all Alternate Country, Americana, Texas Music ( Texicana ), and Red Dirt music. Their original sound is unique but still has a familiar hot Texas flavor.

The band has the unique ability to adapt to the crowd and play what people want to hear, even if it means whippin out a few rock songs upon request. Anything to make the people happy.
